Diligent has hired 75 professionals to staff its new Mexico office and, according to company executives, plans to expand the number of employees in the coming months.

The majority of Diligent’s revenue comes from its portfolio of governance, risk and compliance software solutions. The company charges a subscription fee that gives clients access to board management software, secure messaging tools, voting management systems and solutions that simplify complex regulatory, compliance and risk management processes.

Diligent claims to serve more than 25,000 companies, including approximately 65% ​​of Fortune 1000 companies. Its Guadalajara office will act as the company’s operations center in Latin America, supporting clients across the region by providing local services and expertise.

Diligent was founded in 1994 as a consulting firm specializing in secure web hosting for financial institutions. Businesses have changed a lot over the past decade, transforming significantly during the COVID years. Many of their solutions are well suited to a post-pandemic world where technology is embedded in business operations.

“A lot of board meetings are being held online. Overnight, everything went digital,” said Lisa Edwards, CEO of the Diligent Institute, in a recent interview with FinTech Futures.

Growth through Acquisitions
Much of Diligent’s post-COVID transformation was achieved through a series of strategic acquisitions.

In February 2021, the company acquired Galvanize, a provider of governance, risk, and compliance software, in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion.

This was followed by the acquisition of Steele Compliance Solutions, a compliance management specialist whose clients include more than a quarter of the Fortune 250.
